I’ve been so bad about writing. Peanut has moved up to the next level in daycare and potty training has officially begun. She’s had one successful attempt at daycare and one just this morning! Woo hoo!!! Of course we’ve also had some accidents. She still refuses to even try doing #2 in the potty. Her current favorite spot is under the kitchen table. Maybe we should put the potty there???
She’s talking so much!!! Too many words to mention and more sentences. She tries to repeat pretty much everything she hears, much to my dismay when I yelled out a curse word at an errant driver. She’s really good about saying “thank you” and “you’re welcome” but making her say “please” is like trying to milk a dried-up cow. Not that I actually know what’s that’s like. Her current favorite word is, of course, “mine”.
She loves the pool and she’s so bold. She’s fearlessly jumping into the pool and while it’s cute, I’m not sure it’s such a great thing. She’s already trying to kick her legs in the water so maybe she’ll be a swimmer like her big sis.
For some reason, she continues to give us a hard time with sleep and now she hates getting her face washed during bath time.
She’s in size 5 in shoes, finally 2T in shirts, but her bottom still varies anywhere from 12 – 24 months. She still fits into her swimsuit from last year!
She finally has enough hair to scrape into two tiny pigtails. I really need to post a photo because she looks so cute! Sadly, I’ve been really bad about taking photos and downloading even the ones I take.
She loves her milk, daddy’s pancakes, mac and cheese, cheese, rice, broccoli and green beans. She’ll sometimes eat raw carrots, cucumbers and celery. She’s loving watermelon, strawberries and grapes, but not blueberries. She loves, loves ice cream and yogurt with “crunchies”. It seems like she has a sweet tooth, but she doesn’t like Fruit Loops.
In the house, she likes to flip through her sister’s books instead of all the picture books. She likes to draw with “pencils”, but really she means pens. She also likes to play with other people’s shoes, currently one of Soso’s flip-flop is her favorite. She also likes to create general chaos. It’s becoming harder and harder to keep the house neat.
She likes to go outside and play with rocks instead of the expensive climbing/slide set we bought for her. She also likes to go for walks, walking herself, in the stroller or the wagon. She’s not picky. She likes splashing in puddles created by rain.
That’s all I can think of for now.
wonderful to hear about ‘peanut’ thought she sounds more like a ‘honey’ from your recent description…….pix please!
Thanks for the update. She sounds like a super adorable, sweet little girl. Watch that pool – you have a little shark on your hands!! We need pics. Michelle
