Tofu Kebab

I think I was supposed to make Easy Bean and Rice.  Instead, I made Sesame Ginger Noodles and Tofu Kebabs.  This is the second time I skipped out on making the beans recipe… hm.  Really, I had tofu and scallions that needed to be used.  Soso, my 5 year old ate the mushrooms!  I think the first time she ate such a big piece of mushroom!

Tofu Kebabs


  • 1 package of tofu cubed into 24 pieces
  • 8-10 white mushrooms halved
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • 1 scallion sliced


To make the marinade, whisk together all the ingredients except for tofu and mushroom in a large bowl.  Add tofu and mushroom and marinate for 15 minutes.  Put alternating tofu and mushroom on skewers, makes about 6 kebabs.  Place kebabs on a cookie sheet or a broiling pan.  Broil the kebabs on each side until the tofu is brown, about 10 minutes each side.
