That Old Movie List, Again!

Geez, it’s taking me a loooooooong time to finish watching all 100 movies from the 2007 AFI 100 years, 100 movies list.  Below is the list again with the ones I need to watch in red.  I had hopes of watching a couple this summer, but I managed to watch only Jaws.  I should host movie nights with friend in order to get through this list before the decade is over!  Except I have this tiny, tiny television… so I’ll have to wait until we upgrade to a bigger one.

By the way, one of the reasons why I’m having a hard time watching a lot of these movies is the bloody and gory aspect.  The Godfather, any of the war related movies, even Jaws, I’ve seen clips over the years where there are people being shot, blown up, ripped apart and I just hate seeing blood and body parts.  It’s a wonder I managed to watch Untouchables and Glory without throwing up.

Anyway, I’ve been scared of watching Jaws all these years between the blood and scare factor and it was not bad at all.  Someone will have to explain to me why it’s in the top 100 though.  I didn’t think it was all that great of a movie.  Then again, I didn’t love Psycho (14) either that much or High Noon (27).

  1. I don’t like the bloody-gory type stuff either. Probably the reason why I’ve only seen 28 of the movies on this list, my favorite ones being the Marx Brother movies and the Sound of Music. ^^ Good luck on achieving your goal!
